My current body of work uses energetically-charged paint to create fields of color, light and texture, creating portals to other realms of consciousness. I employ the vibration of selected sounds to imprint a specific quality in the work. Audio is emitted inside water used for painting, playing on a continuous loop over an extended period of time.

Some works are submerged in sound-charged pools of transparent paint, collecting pigment as sediment, using the canvas itself as a vessel. Other works are more active in my directing of the materials, incorporating this charged paint with air, as a cloud of pigment on linen, canvas or silk.

Examples of audio include mantras or music composed from humanity’s most ancient bodies of knowledge such as the Vedas, Upanishads and the Bhagavad Gita. Welcoming these sacred texts into the work connects me more deeply to their wisdom, while honoring them as portals to a universal, aspiring consciousness across centuries and the earth.
